AUSTIN, Texas, August 11, 2005 – On August 26, 2005, 8:30 –10:00 a.m. BiGAUSTIN’s Women’s Business Center, Central Texas’ only SBA Women’s Business Center will host the First Annual Road to Independence Morning Tea. BiGAUSTIN conceived the event as a way to infuse the ritual of teatime, a time honored tradition for women, with a mission to help create and maintain healthier businesses and personal lifestyles. Targeted to women in Central Texas who have success on their agenda, the Road to Independence Tea will celebrate the collective contribution women make to our local community.

The Morning Tea is the only event of its kind in East Austin. Women will indulge in a selection of fine natural teas and gourmet cuisine, while engaging in stimulating roundtable discussions designed to provide women with components to living more independent lifestyles. Councilwoman and small business advocate Betty Dunkerley, will be present as the honorary Event Chair. Dynamic roundtable speakers include: BiGAUSTIN’S President and Founder, Jeannette Peten, 2005 U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce’s National Business Woman of the Year, Sylvia Acevedo, KVUE’s Weekend Anchor and Reporter, Quita Culpepper and Business Owner, Jewell Parker. For a donation of $10.00, Morning Tea participants will be able to fellowship, attend two intimate and interactive roundtable discussions on topics ranging from financial independence and self-actualization to time management. "The ultimate goal of the Morning Tea is to empower women to make positive changes in their personal and professional lives. We want to arm women with new tools to navigate their road to independence", says Jeannette Peten, President and Founder of BiGAUSTIN.

The event will be catered by Seven Nations Catering, a women-owned business and one of the first businesses to take advantage of BiGAUSTIN’s Women’s Business Center.
