BIGAUSTIN TO OFFER DISCOUNTS ON ENTREPRENEURIAL CLASSES AND LOANS IN CELEBRATION OF SMALL BUSINESS WEEK

Austin, TX -- In celebration of National Small Business Week 2003 -- September 15-19, and the 50th Year Anniversary of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), BiGAUSTIN is offering a 20% discount on classes and workshops for small business owners who register online at www.bigaustin.org. In addition, BiGAUSTIN is waiving credit analysis fees to entrepreneurs applying for funding. BiGAUSTIN has helped thousands of small business entrepreneurs achieve economic success by offering nationally-acclaimed small business education and dispersing more than $1,400,000 in micro-loans.

National Small Business Week, created by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), is celebrated annually by cities across the country. The week is dedicated to honoring the entrepreneurs who contribute to the nation?s economy. It is also a tribute to the talent and achievements of small business owners and managers.

"Small businesses are the engines that fuel our economy. These entrepreneurs create more than 75 percent of the net new jobs nationwide and generate more than 50 percent of the nation's gross domestic product. As a token of our appreciation, we are honoring, saluting and thanking business men and women by offering discounts on our entrepreneurial classes and waiving our credit analysis fees," says Jeannette Peten, President of BiGAUSTIN.

BiGAUSTIN's fall education program includes a six-week class called Taking Financial Control of Your Business that teaches existing business owners advanced financial management skills and helps them take a hard look at their businesses to grow to the next level of profitability. The popular seven-week Start Smart course, a FastTrac(TM) New Venture class, is designed to give participants an in-depth business overview and help them write a business plan that can be used for raising capital and steering growth. And, workshops ranging from Jump Start Your Marketing Campaign to Solutions for Human Resources have been developed to suit the needs of those unable to attend the more comprehensive education courses.

Students can register for BiGAUSTIN workshops or classes online at www.bigaustin.org, or by phone at: (512) 928-8010.

In the past 4 years, BiGAUSTIN has created 465 jobs through its loan program, and perhaps more importantly, sustained 246 existing jobs in the local economy. BiGAUSTIN, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, is the first and only combined source for effective entrepreneurship education and access to capital in Central Texas.
