BiGAUSTIN CELEBRATES GRADUATES OF SMALL BIZ PROGRAM

Austin, TX – Business Investment Growth (BiGAUSTIN) invites you to celebrate the graduation of 27 new and existing business owners from our entrepreneurship training classes.  The ceremony will be held at 4100 Ed Bluestein Blvd, Training Room 1 on Thursday Nov 6th from 7:30-9:00pm.  BiGAUSTIN is a non-profit, 501(c) community based organization dedicated to increasing the supply of capital to microbusinesses in the Austin community and providing training to these entrepreneurs.

20 aspiring entrepreneurs are graduating from our Start Smart class.  Students met twice a week for seven weeks to learn the basics of starting a business such as legal forms, accounting, bookkeeping, market research, marketing, and financing.  Students also completed a personalized business plan during the course.  The existing business owners enrolled in our Taking Financial Control of Your Business class, which was a six-week course on understanding and using cash flow, balance sheets and income statements to make expansion decisions.  This class has yielded 7 graduates.

BiG (Businesses Invest in Growth) is a local nonprofit with a tremendous track record of launching small businesses, through the area’s first and only combined source for effective training and access to capital.  Since its inception in 1992, BiG has served entrepreneurs in the Austin metropolitan area, focusing on economically disadvantaged communities.
